my ipod girl

dd loves music….and thinks my ipod is the best! She gets the biggest smile when I let her listen to some music. The earphones won’t stay in her little ears, so she has to hold them in place…and it keeps her occupied for quite some time.

POTD Week-Texture

TEXTURE……fun subject! Looking forward to this week.

took these at the zoo yesterday….must say I got REALLY strange looks as I was taking pictures of things other than animals! People were walking by looking at me like I was crazy….that’s okay….they were busy snapping pics in front of signs and cages…and I was looking for something a little ‘different.’

So, here’s my ‘dead wood log’ for TEXTURE…..and the underside of a HUGE leaf with backlighting. HHCC welcome! Both were taken with my 70-300mm—SOOC except I ran through defog and bumped up contrast a tad. tfl!

the zoo….

ETA: Carousel Ride/scroll down….

took gracen to the zoo today for the first time. It was fun! She really liked the sea lions and turtles and ducks—(things that swim…!) Took these with my 70-300mm and I thought the lighting looked pretty cool with dh and dd. Of course the sea lion isn’t the greatest pic as it is through the glass…..but you get the idea.

we went to the zoo yesterday and jason took g on her first carousel ride……

it wasn’t quite as fun as I thought it would be…….

“okay this thing is moving up and down….not to sure about that…..”

“daddy, save me!” tears followed…..

“let’s get out of here daddy!”

Hope and Glory

received this gorgeous bouquet from dear friends and family….
what a photographic feast!!!

i took these near sunset–and was so excited to play with sunflare….

love the HOPE in this picture…..the way the sunflowers seek the SUN and the glorious yellow.

I know this is kinda ‘flower overload’….but i LOVE sunflowers and just had to post these. Thanks for looking and thanks for all your comments on my blog. I appreciate it!

this is my sister’s and mine—got the title from my friend laura’s and mine that she created….(laura….we need to get moving on those!)

a page that my friend lisa did in hers and my Circle Journal–she loves TEXTURE and lots of altered stuff and is always very inspiring to me…..

my page about the journey to our daugther and what felt like the “never-ending wait” of the adoption process…..waiting is tough-but, the Lord is good.

Canvas Collage….

some canvas art i made for dd’s room about 6 months ago. this was inspired by creative and fun Ali….she had made something similar that was in CK about 6 months ago…..so, I got out the acrylics and started cutting squares…:)

this used to hang above gracen’s crib—but, one morning I came in to get her…and she had successfully gotten it off the wall and decided to ‘rearrange it’…..hmmm…..not the best morning in our household….:) So, anyways, there is supposed to be another picture in the yellow square–but, that got ‘destroyed’ and I haven’t replaced it yet. so just ‘imagine’ one there…:)

Also, I know the pics in the actual collage aren’t the greatest….but, I’ve learned some things since then.

and off topic…..BUT……

AREN’T THESE SO CUTE?????

POTD Week-Scrapbooking

wow….the week of scrapbooking–haven’t done any of that recently…:)
But, these are some fun blocks I made a year or so ago inspired by donna downey…love her books! I used a lot of basic grey paper which I LOVE!!

I took these tonight so had to use the yucky flash…bummer–I tried warming them up some…but, mostly I just wanted to make today’s post. I dialed the flash exposure down to almos -2EV flash—to try to minimize it–don’t know if it worked or not.

About the blocks—they are all related to our FAMILY….
dh and my anniversary, our footprints in the sand, a block on Taiwan where we adopted our dd, a block for HOME with a key, etc. Very fun to make…:)
